It was our first time there, and the food wit delicious 😋 nice and piping hot crispy chicken it's definitely worth going if you haven't gone already! The staff is great super friendly it gave me home vibes. We had got the family meal and a fried chicken sandwich, that was 🔥 🔥 . Check this place out
While the breakfast sandwich was okay I'd recommend McDonald's over this place. For the price of a breakfast sandwich I would expect to see a clean place. There is so much grease in the showcase that it turns me away from buying a sandwich from them again. Idk how they stay in business being so filthy
We come here every so often, usually when coming back from Deep Creek or Western Maryland excursions. Big fried chicken fans we've found the food good. Every once in a while it's off their game but usually spot on. Never had anything else but fried chicken so can't speak to the rest of the menu.
Sides like coleslaw and macaroni salad are decent but probably come from one of those bulk cartons.
Chicken is usually juicy with crispy skin. The attached picture has a red tint because we were under the red awning.
Speaking of which, there are a few picnic tables around the outside. Two or three close up and several under cover few steps away. Try not to sit too close to the trash area because on a hot day it gets ripe. Many folks eat in their car or just get pure take away.
Best carry out chicken in the county. I come here a few times a week for lunch to indulge in their amazing chicken salad.
I read about this place in the past and since I was in the area yesterday decided to give it a try. Upon entering, i was greeted warmly by either I presumed to be the owner/manager who took my order and had me wait in the outdoor dinning area. Once my food was ready, which was a 4 piece dark meal, i was ready to dig in. The chicken was, as a Southerner and my preference, crunchy outside, juicy inside. Originally my co-worker and I were going to take our food back to our office in Baltimore, but opted to eat at the table under the tent. Despite it being a cool and rainy day, the meal was hot and fit the bill.
I have read previous reviews from others about how the food was better under previous ownership. While I am not a local nor have eaten at the "legacy" establishment a few have given high regard to, I will say the quality of the chicken and service eclipses that of the chain or "mass produced" fried chicken places that dot the landscape and I will definitely return and suggest that if you are in the area, give Red Rooster a try as well.
The chicken was just ok but the onion rings were really tasty. Best onion rings I've had in a while and the homemade coleslaw was delicious.
Very poor quality fried chicken. I’ve included a picture of a chicken breast. Not crunchy, very greasy, but I’d give it two stars because the meat was tender and juicy. I also ordered coleslaw, Mac and cheese, and potato salad. Not impressed with any of them. It’s too bad a local joint can’t produce good fried chicken. I really hate to say it but if you’re in Damascus KFC is a better choice.
Unbelievable, I came 30 minutes before they close and the staff didn't want to take my order. The reason "We run out of chicken". Follow by "We're closing soon anyways." What was the real reason? I order twice a month but after today, forget it.
